Certain families are more affected by cancer due to abnormal genes they share. Such hereditary cancer syndromes may increase the risk of breast, uterine, and ovarian cancer. As a women’s clinic, we realize the importance of providing access to accurate and non-invasive genetic testing.
The Preventtest only requires a saliva sample using an oral swab to test for genetic material. Genetic Counselors are available for abnormal results. Depending on the patient’s age and genetic mutation, risk reducing surgery or enhanced cancer prevention screening may be recommended.
